Stone Park Cafè

On a rainy Sunday afternoon Jonas, Annie and Danielle headed towards Belleville (a French cafe in Park Slope) for a tasty bloody Mary, but to our dismay they only had MIMOSAS!!!!






Can you imagine our utter longing and broken hearts. We decided to indulge in brunch, which was fantastic! Annie had the the omelet de jour and Danielle tested the Mediterranean baked eggs while Jonas indulged in steak and eggs..Oh My!!! Lovely breakfast, but with no bloody Mary were not satisfied.

So...our journey took us to Stone Park Cafè. Good bloodies, slightly heavy on the horseradish, strong and a giant caper to tie everything together. The bartender was extremely attentive and had a quick remedy for Annie's persistent hiccups (one part soda water, squeeze of lemon and a splash of bitters)!! Over all we were pleased and went home happy.

Well....that isn't really how the story ended we actually went down the street Loki and had two more rounds! Loki is also in Park Slope and although it is a sports bar, for a Sunday it was low key and we had three couches to ourselves. The bloody Marys were smoky, STRONG and had a pickle swimming in the glass.

Oh, Robin Des Bois , hath God forsaken you?

Too much horseradish!!! Three tiny rotten emaciated olives, and a 12oz glass (no pint?) one bite of the celery stick and it sank.

Yummy food, super yummy crab cake benni, but even though the place was empty we got seated in the worst seat in the house. As far as atmosephere, eclectic ephemera and beautiful chandeliers.

Bar Tano

Located underneath the F line near the 4th ave/9th stop, Bar Tano was an oasis amidst a caotic NYC Sunday morning apartment hunt.

We noticed the quaint Italian charm right away. Our eyes went straight to the beautiful wallpaper behind the bar and ornate tin ceilings over head.

The service was prompt and friendly, food was fabulous and the Bloody Mary strong.
Although, disappointed with the lackluster garnish...no celery stick??? (we do need something to munch on) overall it was sure to do the deed.
Perfect blend of horseradish and worcestershire, plenty of lemon and lime make for a staple recipe.
We would recommend this spot for a great, classic Mary.
